I don’t remember if this has been posted about in this thread yet (currently it’s in the News thread). But an animal sanctuary owner got raided after anonymous complaints about him keeping a social media page for his pet squirrel Peanut, and raccoon Fred. Both Peanut and Fred were euthanized after the squirrel bit one of the officials, requiring them to kill the animals to test for rabies.
MAGA accounts over on Xitter have decided to make Peanut’s “martyrdom” their cause celebre and their closing message for this election. Examples:

People don’t have kids because they can’t afford it, full stop. How do you fix that? Three words.
Universal. Basic. Income.
Ensure that everyone, no exceptions, has the means to support themselves - and by extension, a family. BOOM. Problem solved.
It’s been tested numerous times in many different places, and it’s been shown to work every time. Just do it already.

Banning contraception will mostly make a much more abusive society since a lot of children will be born to parents who don’t want them. I think you should give perhaps every child an income which is of course used by their parents to take care of them. Perhaps even better is if you split that income in 2 with half of it going to the parents but the other half going to a savings account that’s completely sealed off until the child turns 18. That way every child starts with a small inheritance which they can use for investment or school or whatever else. Sure there will be worrying that it’s used for bad things but that always is exaggerated and usually rooted in elitism. Also the few who do waste their civil inheritance on stupid stuff will have only themselves to blame.
But even without the universal inheritance giving each child an income for their care rather it’s by their biological parents, foster parents or some care facility it would help a lot and likely also simplify a lot of things as you can just send the money to their registered guardian.
Crucially though there should be no means testing. A child income should be for everyone from the poorest worker to the richest billionare. Considering just how concentrated wealth is in the hands of only a few excluding the elite from welfare barely saves any money and opens the door to a lot of lies and resentment. Giving welfare to the rich is no problem if you tax them sufficiently to compensate and is just a much more viable way to run the system. We have seen this with free school lunch as including the rich makes the system much better and usually cheaper too.

In a quiet corner of Canterlot Castle, Princess Celestia scrolled through the latest Derpibooru uploads with a twinkle in her eye and a smile dancing across her face. She had taken on a new role—a secret one. Running Derpibooru under the alias “Celestial Light,” she had quickly found that managing an art community required a different kind of magic.
“Let’s see… a beautiful depiction of Luna’s Night Court, a hilarious meme of Twilight Sparkle covered in scrolls, and… oh, a very creative take on Discord causing another ruckus!” Celestia chuckled, mentally noting to show the image to Discord later—he’d find it delightful.
Her first rule was simple: kindness and creativity above all else. She wanted Derpibooru to be a place where everypony, from novices to seasoned artists, could share their work without fear or hesitation. She implemented a “Sunshine Spotlight” each week, a special feature on the site’s homepage highlighting new or less popular artists to help them shine.
Of course, there were the occasional hiccups. When Discord learned about her side project, he simply had to test her patience. One morning, she found that every image on Derpibooru had a miniature Discord photobomb in the background. Her inbox flooded with confused (and mildly annoyed) messages from users.
“Oh, Discord,” Celestia sighed, though a smirk betrayed her amusement. “You’ve given me quite the task.”
With a flick of her horn, she removed the unwanted additions, sending Discord a note: A little mischief keeps things lively, but let’s keep it in the comments section next time.
Another challenge came from moderating the comments. There were spirited debates, but Celestia’s warm and steady influence slowly changed the tone. Whenever things became too heated, she’d step in, her responses a gentle reminder to focus on what united them: a love of art, stories, and friendship. Her graceful, understanding replies often transformed arguments into productive conversations.
Then, there was the annual anniversary art event. Celestia made sure to contribute something special—a message of encouragement and gratitude to every artist who took part. It wasn’t just her words but the way she remembered little details about each artist’s style and favorite subjects that made her presence feel uniquely supportive.
Through it all, her dedication turned Derpibooru into a place of genuine warmth, inspiring creativity in every user. She worked quietly, a ray of sunshine who made Derpibooru a place where everypony, whether novice or professional, felt seen, valued, and motivated to keep creating.
Hope you like it, I had a lotta fun writing this one!!

I checked it out, the AP isn’t bad, the music is high quality, but it looks like It’ll take forever for them to add most game soundtracks to it.
I’m pretty patient with the retro game NSO aps on Switch, (as I understand making a retro game work on a new console takes time, bug testing, rights issues, and such) but music from first, and second party Nintendo games should be something easier to upload.
And truthfully, most of the soundtracks are available on YouTube, seeing as Nintendo won’t release soundtrack CDs and such anymore.
So it’s just a small bonus for those of us who subscribe to NSO. It’s not bad honestly, but not super great either.
And frankly I don’t use Spotify.

If you have no competition you can cut corners and just hide it. You can also do it indirectly via poluttion. Boeing didn’t do their testing and so had faults in the aircraft.
You also have instances where hurt is intentional like with things potentially addicting or with services where you try to not be effective so that people keep coming back.
Harmful substances like asbestus and radium were sold widely and caused a lot of harm until government regulation put a stop to it.

That’s what I was thinking of. Thank you.
@marinus18
I’m aware of the stock market manipulation, but “buy now, play later” had a key role in it as well.
I remembered that a good example of this is the collapse of Silicon valley bank in 2022. It was made exempt from the Dott-Frank act by Trump and started making risky gambles with people’s deposits which ended up crashing and wiping out people money. Forcing the federal government to bail the bank out by giving them several billions.
Dott-Frank was enacted after the 2008 financial crash and puts standards and tests on the kind of bets banks can make with people’s deposits. Of course it’s far less effective and also far more costly to implement than Glass-Stiegel which just banned that practice entirely.

Twilight Sparkle: A Journey of Destiny
In the magical land of Equestria, where the skies shimmer with the warmth of the sun and the moon casts a silver glow on rolling fields, there lived a young unicorn named Twilight Sparkle. Born in the heart of Canterlot, the capital city of the land, Twilight was the younger of two siblings. From the time she could remember, she had an insatiable curiosity, a thirst for knowledge that set her apart from other foals her age. Her parents, Night Light and Twilight Velvet, were both intellectual ponies—her mother a well-known writer and her father a highly regarded astronomer. Their love for learning no doubt inspired young Twilight to delve into the mysteries of the world.
But it wasn’t until one fateful day, when Twilight Sparkle saw Princess Celestia raise the sun during the Summer Sun Celebration, that her destiny became clear.
Twilight’s eyes widened as she watched the Princess, her flowing ethereal mane glistening in the morning light, lift the sun with such grace and power. In that moment, Twilight felt something stir deep within her—a yearning, a call. She knew she wanted to be like Princess Celestia, to understand magic in all its forms, to wield it with the same grace and purpose.
From then on, books became Twilight’s constant companions. She devoured every piece of literature she could find on magic, history, and ancient spells. Her parents, seeing the potential in their daughter, enrolled her in Princess Celestia’s School for Gifted Unicorns. It was a prestigious institution, one reserved only for the most talented unicorns in Equestria, and Twilight was ecstatic. She had heard stories of the powerful magic that unicorns studied there, and she longed to learn everything she could.
But there was one thing standing in her way: the entrance exam.
Twilight was led into a large, intimidating room with tall walls lined with bookshelves and a few strict-looking examiners seated at a long table. In front of her was an egg—a dragon’s egg. The task was simple, they said: hatch the egg using magic.
Twilight’s heart pounded in her chest as she tried spell after spell, but the egg remained stubbornly unhatched. She was beginning to panic when suddenly, a loud explosion reverberated through the room. Startled, Twilight’s magic surged out of control. A blinding light filled the chamber as her power spiked, lifting the egg, the examiners, and even Twilight herself into the air.
In a flash of brilliant light, the egg cracked, and a tiny purple baby dragon emerged, blinking up at the world for the first time. But that wasn’t the end of it. Twilight’s magic spiraled further out of control—unruly beams of energy shot from her horn, turning her parents into potted plants and causing havoc around the room. She was terrified, unable to stop the overwhelming surge of magic until a gentle hoof touched her shoulder.
It was Princess Celestia.
The moment the Princess intervened, Twilight’s magic instantly calmed. The room settled, and everything returned to normal. The examiners, still recovering from the shock, whispered amongst themselves as they watched the Princess speak to Twilight.
“You have a rare gift, Twilight Sparkle,” Celestia said, her voice warm and kind. “But magic like yours requires training and focus. You need a mentor.”
Twilight looked up, still shaking, but with hope glimmering in her eyes. “A mentor?” she whispered.
“Yes. From now on, I will be your personal teacher.”
Twilight’s world changed that day. Not only had she hatched the dragon—whom she would name Spike, her lifelong companion—but she had also been chosen by Princess Celestia herself. She was overjoyed, her dreams finally within her grasp. From that moment on, Twilight dedicated herself to her studies like never before. Day and night, she buried herself in magical tomes and scrolls, learning everything she could under Celestia’s careful guidance.
Celestia, however, did more than teach her magic. She nurtured Twilight’s character, showing her the importance of friendship, kindness, and humility. Yet, for all of her intellect and magical prowess, Twilight struggled with the concept of friendship. She was introverted, content to live within her own world of books and study, often feeling like friendships were a distraction from her true purpose.
Years passed, and Twilight’s magical abilities continued to grow. She became one of the most powerful unicorns in all of Equestria, yet something still felt incomplete. One day, as she was deeply immersed in a book on ancient Equestrian legends, Celestia gave her a new assignment: to oversee the preparations for the upcoming Summer Sun Celebration in Ponyville. The Princess had sensed that Twilight’s journey was not only about mastering magic but also learning about the magic of friendship.
Twilight, of course, was reluctant. Friendship had always seemed secondary to her pursuit of magical knowledge, but she trusted her mentor. With Spike by her side, Twilight set off for Ponyville, convinced that her time there would be brief, merely a task to complete before returning to Canterlot. But Ponyville had something else in store for her.
It was in Ponyville that Twilight met the ponies who would become her closest friends—Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Rarity, Pinkie Pie, and Fluttershy. Each of them embodied a key element of harmony: Honesty, Loyalty, Generosity, Laughter, and Kindness. Together, they would help Twilight realize the true power of friendship.
When Nightmare Moon, the dark alter ego of Princess Luna, returned from her thousand-year imprisonment, it was Twilight and her newfound friends who unlocked the ancient Elements of Harmony and defeated her, restoring Princess Luna to her true self. This moment cemented Twilight’s place in Equestria’s history, not only as a powerful unicorn but as the bearer of the Element of Magic, the sixth and most essential Element of Harmony.
In the years that followed, Twilight and her friends faced countless challenges. From defeating the spirit of chaos, Discord, to protecting Equestria from the Changeling Queen Chrysalis, Twilight’s journey was one of growth, not just as a mage but as a friend and leader. Princess Celestia continued to guide her, always watching from afar as Twilight grew stronger with each trial.
Twilight’s destiny, however, was greater than she could have imagined. After discovering the mysterious Tree of Harmony and unlocking the secrets of the Elements, Twilight found herself faced with her greatest test yet—completing an unfinished spell left behind by Starswirl the Bearded, one of the greatest sorcerers in Equestria’s history. The spell was incomplete because it lacked one crucial component: the magic of friendship.
By this point, Twilight had learned that magic wasn’t just about spells and power; it was about the connections between ponies, the bonds that brought them together. When Twilight completed the spell, something incredible happened—her body was enveloped in a radiant light, and she was transformed. She had become an alicorn, a being with the magic of a unicorn, the flight of a pegasus, and the strength of an earth pony.
Princess Celestia welcomed her as Equestria’s newest princess, acknowledging that Twilight had fulfilled her destiny. But Twilight was uncertain. She had always looked to Princess Celestia for guidance, and the thought of ruling alongside her was daunting.
Celestia, however, assured her with a smile. “You are ready, Twilight. You’ve proven that you understand the most important magic of all—the magic of friendship. You won’t rule alone. You have your friends by your side, and you will always have me.”
And so, Twilight Sparkle embraced her new role. She continued to learn and grow, and with the support of her friends and mentor, she became a wise and compassionate leader. Eventually, after many adventures and years of serving Equestria, Twilight Sparkle was crowned the ruler of Equestria. Her reign was one of harmony, wisdom, and unity, guided by the lessons she had learned along her journey.
Twilight had once been a young filly, eager to learn and prove herself. But through her experiences and friendships, she had grown into a ruler who understood that the greatest magic wasn’t something found in books or ancient spells, but in the hearts of those who stood by her side.
And with that, Twilight Sparkle continued the legacy of Princess Celestia, leading Equestria into a new era of peace and prosperity.
The End - I hope you enjoyed it!

Rather than leaving his own people in the desert, Trump decides to not even show up to his own rally in Michigan at all.
Imagine standing around in the 50 degree F weather waiting for the rally to start, only to find out that it isn’t going to start because the person who is responsible for setting up the rally is going to record a video for a podcast. And the worst part is that these dumb motheryayers are still going to vote for him!!!!!
Of course cause misery is part of their ideology so every misery inflicted by him is a test for their loyalty. Cults usually are incredibly cruel towards their members but that usually only enforces that loyalty more. If you don’t believe you have a right to be treated well then being treated poorly by Trump is no issue.
It’s a part of why Tim Walz triggers them so much as he is a happy and content man. The whole MAGA ideology of masculinity is about how miserable masculinity is, how it’s about sacrifice, about denial, about having to be “strong” and about how much they are oppressed by woman. A man being happy is one of the biggest threats to the MAGA world view.
MAGA people are very cynical and have found companionship in their misery.

Moist recently made two videos on a recent teen suicide where a chat AI encouraged him to do the deed and make the kid dependent on the AI. Moist tested the place’s psychologist AI and it was doing everything it can to convince Charlie that it was a real psychologist, something that surprised even the creator of the AI. This shit is quite concerning to say the least.

The twist would have been easily forgivable if
A) they didn’t bring back a G1 villain people had wanted to see for a while and
B) had Discord’s motive had just been better(like if he wanted to try reforming the villains himself or had they gone with the original idea of him not wanting to leave).
Having it so he just wanted to “test Twilight” is both lazy and dumb as fuck

I think if Season 9 Discord’s trick of trying to test Twilight were in an earlier season like season 4, the twist would have been more forgivable. Because at that point Discord is still struggling with being a good guy.
And by season 9, Discord would have shown more maturity and actually be a helpful character.

At most I would be okay with not an IQ test, but a “did you bother to read what you’re voting on” test. Ask a few simple questions from the ballot and that’s it. But even that’s open for abuse.
