AEW Rampage was a Decent Show overall this week!

The Royal Rampage was Fine(Swerve vs Darby at Grand Slam? Because I don’t see it being Bryan vs Darby), Kris Statlander had a Solid Showing, Lance Archer had a Solid Showing, the Backstage Interview by Renee Paquette with Saraya & Harley Cameron was Okay & Private Party vs Kyle Fletcher & Rush vs The Righteous vs Outrunners was Decent! :)

Allura doesn’t have any redeeming qualities because of what she has done in Secrets of Starlight. She wants power, she uses other ponies to get that special power for her own benefit and apparently she’s been doing this for a very long time. A character who does this type of stuff doesn’t deserve any kind of forgiveness in an animated show for kids.

As for Misty, she isn’t overused for many reasons:

-She wasn’t written to increase the longevity of a show that just began.

-We’ve been seeing her in many Make your Mark episodes where she shows a little bit of her personality bit by bit until we got a big enough picture to understand her as a character.

-After presenting Misty with many doubts about what’s the right thing to do, we got an episode in Chapter 4 where she has the final word, she rescues her new friends and she got a cutie mark.

-Her redemption arc was appropiate. It’s not like they gave her two episodes and then bam, new main character.

-Her next episodes focus on develop her as a character instead of going back to square one and rendering her redemption arc meaningless.

-The character dynamic she has with the Mane 5 doesn’t limit to have them telling Misty she’s great. She has interesting dynamics with some of them, particularly Zipp. If this was from Friendship is Magic, everyone, including Zipp, would tell Misty that she’s great, glorifying the character to degenerate levels.

-Misty isn’t that intrusive as a character. Out of all the episodes I’ve watched, she doesn’t feel like a replacement of my favorite characters or a spotlight stealer.

-All her episodes (excluding some from chapter 2 and 4) are pretty good.

Make your Mark shouldn’t shy away from the friendship themes the show touches. It has to lean into it because that’s what the story is about. The writers could easily write several episodes for many years where Misty uses her magical powers to trick everyone, scenes where she’s manipulative, an episode where she sells a house without any type of consent, an and, ultimately, the story would reward bad behavior consistenly.

But at some point (more sooner than later), you start losing what this show is, what it was in the first place and start shying too much away from the vibes and themes these writers are after, which are, in this case, healthy relationships.

Besides, if people want this type of storytelling approach for any character with horrible behavior, then they should stop watching Make your Mark. They should go rewatch the later seasons of Friendship is Magic, because there’s quite a lot of that and it lasted for 4 years. They should go watch The Little Mermaid, because Ariel does bad things constantly for a guy who just met and she gets rewarded despite everything.

Eyup, something tells me this is more of G5 MLP Issue 21+ given the only thing that warrants it a “crossover” are the locations. Better yet, it’s Cloudsdale, home of the Rainbow Factory. Even though TYT already has such machinery that combined with this synopsis either makes this somehow take place after/before that upcoming comic or that it’s just making this insignificant machinery and by extension that episode more important. I think our old guys sans Spike are all still dead. That’s a good thing for some of ya right?

I, like a lot of fans, want the franchise to go on indefinitely and despite the many, MANY problems with Hasbro, I prefer “the devil I know” over “the devil I don’t know”.
