Now, I fully acknowledge that to some people will see this as bitching, and maybe it is, but stupidity and mindless suckling up to the fat corporate cock like this offends me on a cellular level. Therefore I’m going to dissect this article, point by point to because that is how I cope. That and alcohol.
 
The article opens up by basically recapping every other article on this topic and then claiming that microsoft reversing this DRM sucks.
 
They then go on to give their reasons why. I’ll put wuotations from the article in bold type.
 
This was the original vision of the XBone:  
Every game you bought, physical or digital, would be tied to your account. This would eliminate current-gen problems like buying a disc, and then being unable to store it or download it from the cloud.  
Ok. Thats nice, but not something that seems like a revolutionary concept that reshapes how we view technology because hard drives already exist. Those work fine for storage as far as I’m concerned, but maybe I’m just a luddite.
 
Because every single game, physical or digital, would be tied to an account, publishers could create a hub to sell and resell the games digitally. Let’s refer to these as “licenses” from here, even though it’s a loaded term.  
Because why should publishers have to compete am I right? I honestly don’t get the malice some people in the gaming press have for brick and mortar stores.
 
Because reselling games would now work through a hub, publishers could make money on resold games.  
Which is easier than making games people want to hold onto. Not to sound callous but I don’t really give a damn about publishers not making money off of used games sales. See, once I pay sixty fucking dollars for a game the principal of first sale means it’s my goddamn property. If I want to resell it, that’s my fucking right, and more over I have the right to shop around for the best price I can get on a used copy of Death Cock 9: The Enshootening. Because that copy is my goddamn property, I really can’t emphasize this enough.
 
Here is how this makes sense for YOU: New games could then be cheaper. Why? Publishers KNOW that they will not make money on resold games, so they charge more to you, the first buyer. You are paying for others’ rights to use your game in the future. If the old system had gone into place, you would likely have seen game prices drop. Or, at the very least, it could have staved off price increases.  
I can’t decide if this is stupid, naive or just a great big corporate dick suck. Lets start with the obvious. Why would publishers lower the price of new games in this market? The goodness of their hearts? I wish I had that kind of faith in human nature. Also, what’s stopping them from lowering prices now and actually directly competing with the used games market? Unless you know, the prices on games are inflated do to something like ridiculously out of control budgets, in which case again I ask “how is that my problem assholes?”
 
You also would have started getting a better return on your “used” games—because a license does not have to be resold at a diminished rate.  
A license is a purely digital product. Reselling a game only makes sense with the physical prroduct because there is no fucking limit on how many copies a publisher can make of a purely digital product.
 
How do you know that this would have been the case? Because that’s exactly what happens on Steam. But wait!, you shout. Steam is CHEAP cheap, and it has crazy sales. We love Steam! Micro$oft is nothing like that. Well, no, it isn’t now, but Steam was once $team, too. It was not always popular, and its licensing model was once heavily maligned. Given time, though, it’s now the only way almost every PC gamer wants to play games.  
A fair point. However, one, Steam does not allow the reselling of games bought on steam, and two, Origin. Just Origin. Microsoft has more in common with EA than they do with Valve in terms of business practices.
 
Sharing games would have worked either by activating your Live account on someone else’s Xbox One, or by including them in your 10-person share plan, which would not have been limited to “family.”. Details on that had been scarse, but even the strictest limitations (one other person playing any of the shared games from your account) would have been a HUGE improvement over the none that we have now. We don’t get that now.  
Yeah, now if I want to share a game with someone I have to let them borrow a copy which is such a fucking hassle because of… um… oh wait this is stupid as hell to.
 
The 24-hour check-in would have been necessary for the X1’s store, which it is not for Steam, because the physical product (game discs) would still be available. This check-in, literally bytes of data exchanged, would confirm that the games installed were not gaming the system in a convoluted install-here-and-then-go-offline-and-I’ll-go-home-and-check-in-and-go-offline-too-and-we’ll-both-use-the-game methods.  
If that’s going to be a problem, and I don’t see how its my problem that I need to check in to prove I’m not a crook, then maybe its a sign that your other ideas are convoluted and stupid! Maybe just make it so your install won’t run without the disk? Seems like an easy work around.
 
The article then goes on call those of us who have a problem with the XBone’s DRM scheme, essentially, whiny entitled idiots who are refusing to join the future.
 
It then goes on to argue that DRM is good, because the tiny erosion of consumer rights aren’t big ones! And then gives WoW as an example.
 
Here’s a video game example of effective DRM in practice: World of Warcraft, more or less the most popular game of the past decade. WoW, a Massively Multiplayer RPG by Blizzard, is played entirely online—always online, even. Your account is not your property, Blizzard can ban it, or remove items from it at its pleasure. Everything is within its right.
 
And yet, all Blizzard does is run customer support to users who have been hacked (oh, so many are hacked) or who accidentally deleted something or any number of other problems for their accounts. They were even years ahead of the two-factor authentication push, basically giving away authenticators at a loss, with in-game bonuses, just to keep customers from being hacked. Because Blizzard knows that its whole job is keeping its customers coming back for more. And it works. And no one complains.
 
Is the author fucking high? WoW is a fucking MMO! To use a metaphor, an MMO is a lot like renting a place to throw a party, we expect to play by the rules of the person we’re renting the place from. By contrast a single player game is your own house. That you own. And can do with as you please.
 
The article closes out by calling everyone who looked at the XBone and told it to fuck itself tin foil hat wearing conspiracy theorists.

The interview in question has Tabitha sharing a headcanon about Rarity’s vanity and insecurities which was essentially proven correct by the Nightmare Arc.
 
Anyone know which one it is? Or at the very least can throw out some MLP interviews with her so I can dig around like some manner of burrowing mammal?

I’ve watched a few dubs of the show, and they certainly didn’t get the memo on quite a few things. For one, many of the dubs, at least for the first season, thought Rainbow Dash and Scootaloo were boys. They didn’t have males voicing them, but they clearly were doing little boy voices.
 
The Polish dub is quite infamous for a male Spitfire, while the Swedish dub is adored for its Spitfire voice. However, they took the translation of “Wonderbolts” a bit too literally and made them like bolts from a hardware store.
 
The French dubs, both the Quebec and France versions have very…strange voices for the characters to say the least.
 
And finally, when the show is actually broadcast in Canada, the country it is made in, it is censored as it airs on a TV channel designed for preschool age children.

This is a bit less prevalent these days, since modern music has started to eat dick and the old-school has taken more of a hold thanks to the ‘web, but for many years - as recently as 2006! - there’s been this odd hatred for older music from younger generations. Kids in the 90’s hated hair metal and techno from the 80’s (we’ll ignore the fact that the 90’s gave us Vanilla Ice and the Spice Girls), kids in the 80’s hated the 70’s music scene, hatred for classical music has always been pretty notable, and apparently anyone older than 40 in the industry is a dinosaur. (We will again try to ignore the fact that one of the most prominent of people who made these claims was partially responsible for the formation of fucking Nickelback.) May I ask…why? Honest to God, as a kid of the 90s, I can say that the stuff from the 70’s and 80’s blows a lot of my generation’s stuff out of the water, and hot damn, does the classical scene knock it out. Kids will be rebellious, sure, but on what planet is the soundtrack of Mozart considered inferior to LIMP BIZKIT? o_O

So far, most of the antagonists who aren’t in the season opener+endings and monsters haven’t really done that much more damage than the Mane 6.
 
As I brought up in another topic, Spike rampaged through Ponyville after getting big enough, Applejack’s incompetence lead to ponies being poisoned (and as I said in the other topic, there have been lawsuits for as much in our world), Fluttershy brought that parasprite to Ponyville and Twilight kept it around, half of the mane 6 heckled Trixie’s show and how Spike acted towards Twilight after she made it clear she didn’t want to confront Trixie, Twilight used her “Want it, need it” spell which led to a brawl with several ponies, Fluttershy learning from Iron Will and then terrorizing several townsfolk, the incidents involving the Cutie Mark Crusaders etc.
 
Compare this to Trixie (who didn’t really do that much damage until after she got the amulet), Diamond Tiara, etc., and you can ask if those characters are really that much worse than the Mane 6, Spike, and the Cutie Mark Crusaders.

Does anyone have any ideas for an IDW Godzilla miniseries? If so what would the story be, the creative team and tone?

I keep seeing some names pop up like Amelia Gems and… such, are these fan given names for the human alternates of the mane ponies or are they official? I couldn’t see anywhere so thought best to ask.

So far, only two or so mentions of the word “moon” is used as a measure of time. But how much time? This is what the forum is to ask.
 
I doubt it’s as long as a year, because they already use the word “year” as a measurement of time in nearly every other occasion. It might as long as a standard month, because that’s usually how most moon cycles work (before the Gregorian Calendar, they referred to months by moons or something like that), though using Granny Smith’s usage of the word in the context that 100 months passed, and that results in about 8 years since the previous family reunion. A pretty long stretch of time.
 
It might be more ideal, in my mind, if moons were the measurement of how many days passed. It makes a small measurement of time though, as that would have meant that in the span of three seasons, only three months passed.
 
What are your thoughts? Are moons measured in years, months, days, or something else entirely?

While changelings are shapeshifters, they do have a default form. As near as I can tell, it seems to be female, or androgynous while leaning towards female. They’re all the same size and body type as the manes, and have female head and face shapes, even if they lack eyelashes.
 
Thing is, a lot of fans refer to them as male.

No, I don’t mean ban the products themselves. I mean, ban the CONCEPT of limiting the product in the first place.
 
Consider, for example, Pepsi Holiday Spice. A great product, tasty, and when it left store shelves I thoroughly expected it to return nect Christmas. But lo and be-FUCKING-hold, they never released it again.
 
Is there any REASON to get rid of a limited edition product? Any GOOD reason, anyway, and not some yammering shitspewing from some corporate douchenozzle. Seriously! What fucking BENEFIT does this serve? WHY THE FUCK ARE THEY TAKING THESE THINGS AWAY FROM US? AND IF YOU WERE GOING TO TAKE THEM AWAY FROM US, WHY BOTHER MAKING THEM AT ALL?

She would have to use the mathematically equations and the physics of putting up stars, and other cosmological objects, in the sky, that is if their laws of physics is almost similar to ours.
 
She would probably know about the theory of multiple universes too, the physics of black holes, and quantum mechanics.
 
She would definitely have to know this sort of stuff if she’s the Princess of the Night. Learning about space and planets and all that good stuff.
