The show is surprisingly fun, and it has Touhou-like fandom (persistant, lots of fan videos, fan games, and more to offer than just canon and fanfictions, also lots of female characters while being a male audience is valid for both as well).

It started in late 2015 when I first discovered this video. I was rather astonished to find out that the song was originally from a My Little Pony cartoon. I have heard of the franchise’s name before then and I initially dismissed it as some childish show targeted to girls, but after watching that and this video numerous times, my curiosity got the best of me and I looked more into the characters on both the show’s wiki and TV Tropes. The first episodes I watched were Stare Master, Rarity Investigates, and Read It and Weep and I’ve pretty much been a fan since.

Maybe it was because of the animation and how much it impressed me to know it was flash animation. I mean seriously, it looked like it was hand-drawn, that’s how fluid it was. Also, the designs for the characters and the humor also helped.

Very good butts. The characters are drawn to have very nice butts that I like to look at. They make me feel tingly with their delicious butts.

I decided to watch it because of this when I was browsing the escapist forums. I watched the first episode that night and it just sort of took off from there. Nothing to special really.

This thread is about how people became bronies or pegasisters. How they felt about watching the show for the first time and how they came to love it? So just give us your story and we’ll listen to it ;) I’ll start first with mine.
 
How I came to watch the show was all because of “this”:www.youtube.com/watch?v=5GJjmN6ZfEk. I was a big creepypasta fan at the time (I’m still kinda am but not that much anymore) because I had just recently heard about the creepypasta website. I would usually go on Youtube and listen to creepypastas and watch peoples perspectives of those creepypastas, mostly animation. I love animation but I am not really picky with it certain types of animation videos. I’ll point out the details of it being wrong but that won’t mean that I don’t like it. One day I came across the amv of Jeff The Killer and watched it. I thought the video was good (there were a few mistakes but we aren’t really perfect ourselves) and what mostly caught my attention was the H8_Seed & WoodenToaster - Awoken song. I searched up the song’s lyrics and listened to it multiple times because it was a good song. I then watched the pmv (Pony Music Video) and found it quite a shocker though… Never thought there would be a show about ponies so a couple months passed and I decided to watch the first season of MLP: FIM. I found it cheesy at first and laughed at it because to me it was a stupid show that was for girls (Sorry if I am being sexiest and rude right there). I had made fun of it but I started to get into the community more of the bronies and started to understand why they liked it. So I again watched the MLP: FIM season 1 and sorta enjoyed it. However, I started to like the show when season 2 came out and that season would always reside to being my favorite. And it took off from there. Started listening to pmvs and became a brony. So yeah, that’s my story of how I liked MLP: FIM.
