The ship eventually left as the crew finally breathed a sigh of relief. The undead were too slow to catch up to them, Sandstone panted as he leaned on the railing and looked at the mages
 
“I hope you got what you were after…”

The Captain shouted, but the crew didn’t need to be told twice as they went to work. The ship was on overdrive now as more undead poured from the tomb and even more emerged from the sands

the earth amges busted free of the entrance, slamming the sides on the way out to collapse it behind themselves.
 
“turn the ship around and push the engines as good as they can go! we’ve found what we need!”

Sandstone and the Air ship’s crew were busy fighting off more undead as well as what looked like giant statutes come to life. The captain had wanted to leave but Sandstone convinced him to wait 10 minutes for the others

“as many as we need, but we need to get out of here fast, the sun’s light will be needed soon.”
 
at a wave of his horn their entourage grows by multiple firebirds, that would blast roadblocks of undead flesh on the way out.

It does its job well and the soldiers go down in flames, what flesh remained was charred to the bone. It seemed an easy victory but the voice spoke once more…
 
Pharoh: “Heheheh…did you think it would be so easy…?”
 
The soldiers bones then reassemble and they stand up, then more movement was heard as more undead soldiers awoke from their slumber.
 
Unicorn: “Uh…boss…? You got anymore of those firebirds…?”

“I was willing to give you the benefit of the doubt, witch king, but it is glaringly obvious that you utilize the same forbidden magics as the cult of laughter, that must be why the afterlife has been closed to you. we will see you dead for real, your name struck, your achievements forgotten, your monuments demolished and this accursed text burnt to cinders!”
 
on his last word the firebird dives into the dried up soldiers and detonates.

The darkness was thick, an inch black void that appeared to almost consume him. There was no light, no sound, and the air was still. But then a raspy voice was heard, it came from no noticeable direction and seemingly was heard everywhere.
 
“You…you come here to this sacred place…you vandalized this sacred place…and now you want to steal from this sacred place…there is no agreement to be met. Only punishment for thieves!”
 
Green eyes burned through the darkness as a wooshing noise was heard and the torches inside the holy tomb exploded and burned a sickly green color. It illuminated the room and there standing in the middle were the guards of the Pharoh. Dried up husks of zebras still clad in their royal armor and wielding their weapons which were still sharp.

“Pharaoh, we have traveled far to partake in your knowledge, should your soul yet linger, i am sure we can reach an agreement, that will see you satisfied, if your mind is gone then you needn’t hold onto it and we shall see your glory demonstrated upon the world.”

And with that, the earth mages finally manage to dismantle the entire wall and it collapses into rubble.
 
“Hah! That wasn’t so…uh…oh shit…why does it feel like I did something I really shouldn’t have…?”
 
The Air became…heavy. The silence that was once heard was now deafening as the other ponies began to sweat as if they were out in the hot sun.
 
I…I’ve got a bad feeling about this…just take whatever you find in the catacombs and just get the fuck out!!!

“well, I know we trekked all the way into the desert for this, but now that we are in the midst of a spooky catacombs surrounded by the judging stone faces of the guardians… What’s that noise?”
 
his earth mages, under a case of treasure fever, had begun to break through the stone.
