Even working in modern factories give people hearing damage sometimes, and thatโ€™s much quieter than gun shots. Ear protection is necessary if people hear it too often, like range staffs. But being a police or soldier is much more than just shooting. Itโ€™s just one of many skills in their training, so they donโ€™t necessarily hear gun shots all the time.

In the past, soldiers were supposed to โ€œget used to loud noisesโ€. Today we know that it means hearing damage. Sometimes they did plug their ears with wax, cotton, spent brass or other stuff though.
Nowadays gun users wear either ear muffs, ear plugs, and/or use suppressors. If they donโ€™t, they are leveling up their tinnitus.
Of course, people who carry (including cops) donโ€™t wear ear protection all the time because they rightly assume that the chance of actually using the gun is very low. Same for hunters, who only put on earpro when actually shooting.

How do Cops, Soldiers, Hunters, and general Gun Nuts not go deaf over the years?
A 9mm bullet going off alone is already enough to make most regular folks get shaken up, so imagine fellas using long guns regularly having their ears assaulted.
I donโ€™t exactly see ear protection on every single Gun User all the time either.

It depends. At a minimum you need a rag and mineral oil. Ideally you would use dedicated agents for cleaning, lubrication and protection. Mineral oil wonโ€™t provide good rust protection. Having specialized cleaning agents makes cleaning easier and more effective.

When you look at smaller calibers such as .22 lr and 5.45x39 it does seem to play a difference
I didnโ€™t know that, thanks. Do you have an article I could read or something?
The reason the M-4 replaced the M-16 was because the round had too much spin and would destabilize off target at longer range.
This seems unlikely, Iโ€™m reluctant to believe it without a source. Spin can be adjusted by changing barrelโ€™s twist rate, so if that was their main objective, they would simply use a lower twist rate. M16 went from 1:14 to 1:12 to 1:7. (The latter was to stabilize newer, longer bullets.) They could change it again if they wanted. I believe the shorter barrel was to make the rifle shorter and lighter, not to adjust bullet spin.

faster spinning bullets, this adds up to more lacerations leading to faster blood loss
I thought the spin is to stabilize the bullet in flight and higher than usual spin shouldnโ€™t affect terminal ballistics. Where did you learn that?
longer barrel means a faster spinning bullets
Iโ€™m not an expert, but isnโ€™t spin rate determined by twist rate of the rifling? I imagine the bullet is already spinning at the target rate when leaving the barrel. (I guess an exception would be if the barrel is too short.) Or am I wrong?

Is Crossbow ownership a thing with suburb/city folk?
Is it cheaper and easier to maintain than a standard 9mm Pistol?

If you do not specify a field to search over, the search engine will search for posts with a body that is similar to the query's word stems. For example, posts containing the words winged humanization, wings, and spread wings would all be found by a search for wing, but sewing would not be.
