Target announced that they’re slashing prices on over 5000 items, both name brand and in house items.

Typically, once one major chain does a mass price cut, others in its orbit follow suit, which then trickles out to other stores soon after.

Republicans will now bitch about a conspiracy to lower prices to benefit Biden, “really suspicious how these big corporations just suddenly agree to slash prices with an election coming and the democratic candidate having such low popularity, isn’t it?”

You already have reps priming their base to view any rate cuts by the feds this year as Powell, a republican, trying to help Biden.

Now I’m no engineer, but wouldn’t be far more productive to fix the pipes rather than put it on the news? I mean Glen Canyon dam isn’t likely the first dam to have plumbing problems.

Well, as you said, it’s an engineer’s job to fix those issues, and if the people in charge of managing the Colorado River’s dams and reservoirs are not doing theirs by putting them to the task, it’s a journalist’s job to draw attention onto that mismanagement in the hope that public awareness puts enough pressure on them to make it happen.

They may have imitating old newspapers, but every bit of text there was original… and sloppily put together (there’s bits of template / placeholder left and repeated multiple times).

At this point I can’t even tell if it’s Trump wanting to stay in the news cycle or genuine unparalleled stupidity.

The Trump/RNC actually outraised the dems in April.

But, like with all things Trump, there are more catches than the World Series.

First, 14mil of their haul are actually earmarked transfers to pay for the convention. Almost exclusively from big ticket donors, and personal transfers from campaign staff/RNC political groups.

Secondly, they’re barely spending any of it. The Trump campaign had a piddly 63 staffers on its payroll, and barely spent any cash on mailers or advertising. What did they spend on you ask? Trump’s legal fees. With the campaign dropping nearly 4 million in April, almost matching the 5.5 million that the campaign spent on all campaign functions for that month.

Lastly, down ballot state parties are still suffering, with the lions share of the cash flowing right to Trump.

The DNC still managed to take in more cash overall through its PACs, and the dems still have over twice as much banked up as the Republicans.

In Georgia it looks like incumbent anti-abortion Judge Andrew Pison will keep his seat against bluedog Dixiecrat John Barrow. Can’t say I’m surprised given that voters didn’t really know the stakes (because the majority wasn’t at risk). That it was a nonpartisan race and Pison spent a ton thanks to backing from governor Kemp (who is decently popular among GOP moderates) didn’t help.
