Interesting…an active commenter on Hawk Nightwing’s videos said that the other insider claimed that the second special was likely to never be released…
Although Khairul Ikhwan’s name is nowhere to be seen in the credits of the episode he has listed on his LinkedIn, Emotional Rollercoaster, he’s shown to have last worked at Lil Critter Workshop in May 2024 (keep in mind we’re still yet to see a copyright year from Hasbro Studios from 2024 in the credits for TYT episodes). And this video he’s showing of clips from upcoming episodes is something he posted last month…so how could these episodes not be made well ahead of time like we thought? Also, the first time TYT was unable to keep its weekly release schedule promise was in early March, not May, so the reason for the schedule getting weird at that time was not because of production on Season 2 abruptly ending.
The numbers are not adding up here. Everyone already knows that animation for the episodes of a show’s season is normally done well in advance before the episodes are released and we’re seeing no proof that TYT’s an exception. As Hawk pointed out, even EQD’s sensationalist article said that two pieces of background art made publicly available were from Season 2: Episode 35, yet this insider has reportedly claimed that the last episode will be Season 2: Episode 25.
And another thing. Script writing is done even earlier than animation…yet Gretchen Mallorie is not open to work on LinkedIn, she’s still listed as being contracted by Hasbro as the head writer of TYT as her most recent work. Ryan Denham is still listed as working for Hasbro as well.
If we end up getting this second special tomorrow or any time soon, that will be the biggest reason to doubt this info about TYT Season 2 being canceled yet.
