Fanon Style Hippogriffs and Classical-G4 Style Hippogriffs

I will admit I’m not entirely sure where this conversation is going anymore, but I do think there should at least be a “classical hippogriff” tag. If there’s already a need to separate classic unicorns from… I’m not entirely sure how to word it, non-classic unicorns or modern unicorns or whatever you want to call them… I don’t see why there shouldn’t be the same need for hippogriffs.
 
I am entirely ambivalent towards creating or not creating a tag for other kinds of hippogriffs. I do not however understand why the poll only presents two options, creating two new tags or creating nothing. I don’t see why the presence or absence of one tag would require the corresponding presence or absence of the other.

I was literally saying that there are things tagged X right now, that if a mod searched hippogriff, -X they would be able to easily tag classical hippogriff, which seems to not have any debate. That was literally all I was saying. That searching “hippogriff, -x” as of present would mostly yield what needs to be tagged classical hippogriff. I dont know why that’s so hard to understand.

The logic from my POV about having tags for both kinds is ease of searching, watching and filtering. It would allow users to do any of those for one type of hippogriff without doing anything to the other, without the need to set up complex filters etc. It’s admittedly a very small convenience thing, but something I consider important. Can’t speak for anyone else on that regard, of course.

That makes sense. I still do not think that creating one tag requires the presence of the other, necessarily, but I do see why it might be useful to have both.

I wouldn’t say it necessarily requires it, though I’d argue for both. But I didn’t make the poll, so I can’t comment on that.

Also Koonsy, as I look at that hotmap…I get the feeling that there are people multiple voting since you dont have any form of dupe detection on that poll. I mean do we really have that many people voting on this poll from Raleigh NC to be bright red right there? Or some of the other suspect spots.

All other things aside, this has been bugging me a bit. Every time I go to the url, I’m shown the two voting options again. I suppose we could assume multiple voting on both sides might have canceled itself out, but that doesn’t seem like a very good way to approach this sort of thing.

manipulation of polls online constantly happens and even though i voted i feel that no matter what voting site we use it’ll be manipulated
