It’s more along the lines of how Scoots’ aunts being lesbians was just Hasbro “shilling” to the gays and/or the show writers having an agenda to push “teh gay” on the audience, which I find ridiculous since they act just like any other couple we’ve seen in MLP.

They weren’t “in your face” about it either. If anything, they’ve avoided appearing as “virtue signaly” unlike too many other media that for some reason feel the need to make this into something like it’s the most important thing the universe must revolve around type of thing. Their relationship served no relevance to the premise of the episode. At most, those two existed as just another marginal plot device for the characters in spotlight which were Scootaloo, her parents, and the CMC.

Really, this ep is an interesting contrast to Parent Map, in which the writers said outright they only gave Starlight and Sunburst one parent each because having two complicated the plot too much. Here, we have two sets of two parental figures, both of which have a single role in the narrative. The only virtue each brings by having two members is increased representation of couple types (both same-sex and different-tribe).

It was explained in “Baby Cakes” that baby unicorns get magic surges and baby pegasus can fly for at least a little bit when they reach a month of age. Pound and Pumpkin are never seen flying or using magic in any of their following appearances.
 
PS: Then again a lot of the Cakes Twins antics were ramped up for comedy so who knows. I was just spitballing.

(And for that matter, I’m not even 100% sure I would have got that there were LGBT elements i I didn’t know already. I they want to try and keep their kid’s eyes shut, just say that Holiday and Lofty are friends or sisters - “aunt” is a flexible word in English!”

Worse yet is that you have people saying that it’s Mike Vogel whose somehow the bad guy in this situation for saying that Lofty and Holiday are gay and for being angry/upset over “people having a different view then him”.
 
Gee, an openly gay man getting angry over a bunch of homophobic comments like this and getting understandably upset with people unironically saying that gays are pedos or rapists, clearly he is in the wrong here.

Yeah. You know it’s bad when TSP is exclusively using his “The Frowning Pony” admin account to deal with it. Usually he starts with his regular non-admin account before going to the admin one when things get too heated.

Also it’s probably nto helping that the episode aired during Pride Month, so that’s probably not helping much.
 
Poor Scootaloo. Treated like an orphan for years yb the fandom, and when it’s finally revealed she has relatives, everyone is throwing a fit over her aunts being lesbian.
 
Also there’s a surprisingly small amount of art of her parents, I thought this would have been a bigger deal to a lot of people

And a lot of the stuff we have gotten about her parents has just been “They abandoned her, and it also makes her reactions in Parental Glideance make no sense!” Except that’s not the case.

I think the episode wasn’t gay enough.  
I hope they’d do an episode centered around Lofty and Holiday’s relationship where they are seen kissing each other.  
Do not include straight couples like what last crusade did. It’s 2019, hetero couples are oppression.

I get the feeling they wanted to do more with the Aunts. But we’re too scared to do so knowing the reprisal they would receive if they did. They even had to balance out the episode with a couple straight couples, Scoot’s parents and Sugarmac, to not arouse suspicion and satiate the homophobes. To me, that is oppression, problematic, and cowardly.

The aunts were way too gimmicky for anyone to care for real. There’s no real reasons to make Scootaloo’s carers be a same sex couple, as in no part it serves as part of the story or represents anything of value for the character.  
It was a just a cheap gimmick added just for the sake of having a same sex couple. That would be my lone issue with the aunts.

Scoots is asexual as far as I know. Her perception of a romantic relationship along with the other CMC is that of a straight couple.  
Though I do believe Sweetie will grow to be straight as hinted how they tried mapping out every Colt in their class as her possible secret admirer. And she seems to be okay with that.

I hope we don’t get a G4 type bronies kinda like how Pokemon has Genwunners
