You just need to ignore everything to enjoy 06.  
Thats how I enjoyed Shadow the Hedgehog.

The only thing I had to ignore in Shadow’s game to like it was…nothing, it’s perfect.
 
Well, just try and not take everything too seriously, basically. Even in serious stories, the Sonic series is always gonna be silly. Shadow can carry a gun, yes, but he can also wield and alien sword three times his length, street signs, and a gun that shoots Omochao. The game was not meant to be 100% serious.

I dunno, I found Shadow kind of slippery and hard to control. 06 had stiff controls but it was easier to control.

That’s cause Heroes was slippery and Shadow used the same engine and character models. It MIGHT be better in Shadow, but the slipperyness is the only real gameplay flaw to me. It sorta makes sense to justify with Shadow’s hover shoes, but eh.

That was my only gripe with Shadow, I felt it too easy to fall off the edge of a cliff, I didn’t mind the gunplay at least.  
I’ll take the stiff and more precise controls of 06 any day though.

Yeah, it was stressful doing platforming when it felt like you were always on ice. This again applies to Heroes too.

Yeah that’s also a problem I had with heroes.  
Also wish I had a 360, I have an itching to play 06, after playing the demo released on PC.

I pretty much ignored the Cutscenes.  
I didn’t care a lot about the bugs, since I never suffered any, and I rarely fell from a cliff or something.
 
The only level I really hated is the one where you return to ARK to kill big floating fat pseudo-Chaos around the map.

I have a PS3 and never had an xbox 360, tho I DID play it on a friend’s 360 back when it was new, and I still own that 360 copy.

Is it a fat one or a slim one?
 
I made the mistake of getting a fat PS3 before realizing it couldn’t play later games, so I had to get a slim one too…and now the fat one just sits around :I
 
Both play 06 just fine tho as it’s an early game.

Of all the 3D games, I think 06 has the best soundtrack.

06’s OST is good, but I got sick of hearing His World and it’s variations, plus I liked All Hail Shadow in his game more, and I love all of Shadow’s OST. But SA2, SA1, and Black Knight are good too. Heroes only had two songs I like.

Unleashed was good, but not all my taste beyond the main theme. Colors was lame, and Lost World was lame.

Silver’s theme is nice, but I prefer the remix version. The stage themes are good too.
 
I own Shadow’s OST on offical CD. My other Sonic OST CDs are bootlegs. :v

Favorite stage theme is probably Radical Train the chase or Aquatic Base level 2.
