like I said earlyer the only commercial on TV so far is one made is for tie-in toys I seen on CN its only occasional on & even that commercial doesn’t say the exact date movie releases only “coming this october”

but overall it isn’t very good & that includes both before & after Friendship Day overall like I said its better then Power Rangers sure but not much basically LOT is bad word to use when compereing to the marketing of Power Rangers the MLP the Movie marketing as I said all in all is Slightly better then Power Rangers

Like I said, most marketing for animated films occurs within a month of the movie’s release. There’s still another trailer to be released.

Remember, advertising would eat into it’s takings. Plus I question how much heavily promoting it more than a couple of weeks before would really help, almost everyone whose going to see it just needs to be told it’s on.

Kids movies that are at least passable make money no matter what. We’ve seen this with Trolls, Boss Baby, Angry Birds, etc. Hell, even fucking Emoji made some decent money despite being utter shit.
 
With that being said word of mouth, toys, and soundtrack are what is going to dictate the MLP movie’s success. If the word is out that it’s more than your average kids film and that the songs are fantastic, people will get interested and see the movie. It doesn’t matter how much they plaster onto Taxis in New York, if the film is said to be awful it will turn everyone away. It doesn’t have the minion factor so save it from being a piece of shit.

i’m pretty sure this movie is going up against the new blade runner movie so i’m wondering if that might have an impact on its ticket sales

& word of mouth thing is just an excuse to the current weak marketing of the Film if Word of Mouth was actually a thing on regular basis movies like Power Rangers would have done better Spider-man Homecoming wouldn’t have dropped like rock here in the states had good of word of mouth but overall had descent Box Office opening here in USA but drop off like a rock forcing the restof the world to pickup the slack so yes getting that plaster on the Taxis in New York matters because you never know when you’d need it

it does matter different audience sure but at the end what matters most is a film getting that 1st place in the box office create & Bladerunner 2049 looks like it has a good shot at that 1st place slot meaning My Little Pony movie would come in 2nd place Hasbrp wouldn’t probably be happy they would claim they are publicly but there would be some fingerpointing behind-the-scene since they send all that money on animation, celebrity VA’s, the so called “Big Marketing” just to be come in 2nd place & humiliated by to R rated sequel to 30 year old movie also keep in mind that serious R rated movie never beat CGI animated or big animated Kids in general for obvious reasons so if Bladerunner 2049 does take 1st place the MLP movie will probably look like joke
