Background Pony #EF37
There are three main frame tags, which are used inconsistently and often interchangeably:
I see at least these distinct use cases, there may be more:
-
Image that includes a frame. Examples:
-
Image depicting a physical photo/painting/other image in a frame. Examples:
-
Image depicting a physical frame with nothing in it. Examples:
-
Still from an animated sequence (usually not from official MLP content). Examples:
(the last one might also mean the letterbox/black bars?) -
Still frame drawn for concept art or animatic. Examples:
-
Image animated frame-by-frame. Examples:
-
Panel from a comic? Or maybe it refers to the fact that the panel in question is framed? Examples:
-
Other uses. Examples:
(finger frame)
(no idea; those swirls near image edges maybe?)
(either still frame from video or the implied “frame” in the air he’s peeking from)
(two-frame animation)
(is calculator a frame?)
(it’s not even a passepartout)
(no idea)
(no idea; tags also say “fringe”)
(are those frames?)
(no idea)
It would be a lot of work to create a specific tag for each of these use cases and move relevant images there.
