“I’ve seen arrow-wounds sealed by this method grow septic in a matter of days, and yet those same kinds of wounds would heal fully when just tightly mended up enough and rested. I think, we shouldn’t resort to this just yet.” He then sets the knife aside, instead passing the fabric he’d offered earlier.

The rat nods, feeling relieved. It takes this fabric into its handpaws, looking at it with some clear curiosity but doesn’t dwell on it long, carefully wrapping the wound and tying it off. “You have Queek’s thank-thanks. Many thank-thanks, even if pony-thing only helping so to leave cave.”

“In return I hope you can convince your kin not to butcher me. Speaking of which, though… if they’re close by, you think they may’ve come in from a way out of this cave?”

“Queek is best at convincing!” That isn’t very convincing. “Can smell surface grass from here. We close. May-be they escaped sooner. Queek was not very fast,” it laments briefly, “but for good reason! They maybe found other way out; or may-be weren’t here when cave caved. Queek can go look-look? Maybe ask, too.”

“Won’t be long!” The Skaven dons its cuirass and shoulder cape before standing up. “Harold keep pony-thing safe,” he says while reaching into its neck fur only to produce a living rat. The very uncharacteristically named ‘Harold’ is placed with care next to the knight before the armored Skaven with the long tail begins scurrying up and out of the hole. The long tail(and a wee ribbon wrapped around the end of it) eventually disappears from sight, leaving the knight practically alone, excluding ‘Harold’.
 
What follows is quite a racket up on the surface. :I

The knight would just sit there in the hole, with the rat, contemplating this entire situation he’d found himself in, and what brought him inside this cave, Imperia, and Imperium moreover to that matter… He then turns to the small rodent.
 
“…Quite the amiable friend you’ve got, Harold.”

The skaven ducks down, sticking to the hole- it clearly wants no part of these pony-things.  
Harold, meanwhile, is chill with staying on the knight, having climbed upon him when he commented on Queek.  
The skaven won’t move unless the knight moves away.

(Insert me somewhere i suppose.

the group they saw looked like a trio made of an inquisitor on redemption, a merc fighter, and a griffon frontiersman.
 
“hey inquis, does the emperor allow pet rats?”
 
“the animal, yes, the skaven, not even if it gave him the world stone on a silve platter.”

now a hired thug would have no heightened interest in confrontation… but an imperial inquisitor, even on probation, was notoriously incapable of feeling fear.

Seeing their lack of cooperation, Queek slips his left arm into a shield hanging from his scabbard, his right arm meanwhile drawing his sword. He remains in the hole, but now clearly has nothing against leaping out and helping the knight who has so graciously been on his side so far, meanwhile grumbling about surface dwellers.

his glare never leaving you, the inquisitor holds up his recall stone, this encounter would ahve consequences, the emperor’s name was not used lightly, that meant the order was very real.
