Dash figured that there would be no way of hiding it for now. She gave Dana a look that said, ‘You can stay down here if you want, but I just gotta go up there.’
 
“Uh, yeah!” Dash swam out from below the boat dock and climbed on top of it. “Yeah, I’m okay.” She stood up. “But, uh… there’s some stuff dripping on me down there… it looks like blood!” She pointed to the spot of her body where the blood was dripping.

“You’ve been marked,” Gerry suddenly said, inspecting the blood.
 
“…Excuse me?” Dash raised an eyebrow.
 
“They have marked you,” explained Gerry. “This is their way. Now that you have been marked, you will be the next to go.”

She was honestly starting to get worried about Dana. Hopefully she was okay down there.

“Uh… well, she was, but she got some water up her nose when the waves came through…” She shook her head, splashing on everyone else. “A-anyway, seriously, what is this?” She pointed at the splotch of blood that had dripped onto her fur.
 
“You’re doomed…” Gerry muttered, staring at her.
 
“No, seriously, what is this?”
 
“Doomed!” he whispered.

Silver wiped some of the red stuff off with a stick and smelled it. She was trying to figure out what it was herself.

“That’s what I think it is,” Dash said. The red goop kind of smelled like blood, but not entirely.
 
“It will only be a matter of time now…” Gerry muttered.
 
Dash shook her head, then walked down the dock, pushing by Silver and Alex. “Well, I’m gonna grab my board and catch some waves before it gets dark. Join me if you want!”
 
She grabbed her surfboard, still on the shore, and ran out into the waters. All Dana had to wait for was the others leaving from the dock area.

“It smells weird to be blood, but it’s not impossible…” She flicked the stick into the water. “I, uh…think I’ll stay along the beach, unless anyone wants to do something more interesting…” She left the dock.
