Avatar the Last Airbender/Korra thread

I’m not looking for that character exactly, what I really looking for is the world to be more concrete.
 
I really liked that in Book 2 and 3 of Airbender, Sokka usually had an explanation for what was happening, and a plan for what to do next. Even if the plan didn’t work, I liked that they didn’t just throw the Avatar at the problem and hope crazy Avatar shit happens. Made the world feel more concrete, not just random.
 
At the end of Korra S1, Avatar shit happens, and everything is fine. I can accept that, but I would like it more if the resolution to their conflicts didn’t just come out of nowhere.

2 will kinda disappoint a bit, but after that you will love it, they really cut loose with letting the rest of the cast shine and after season 2 you get allot more stuff like the finale of TLA, where everyone has something going on even if they aren’t with Korra,

I wonder did Korra and Asami had sex while on vaction in the spirit world and would it be somewhere private?

S2E5. What the hell was Mako thinking, ratting the party out. What good does that do for anyone? Even if the president found out, he could’ve easily denied that he knew anything about their plan. His justification to Korra didn’t even make sense. Where did this sense of duty come from? Suddenly he can’t afford to lose that job, and he’s ready to sell his friends out? What.
 
But he’ll probably stay in the party somehow, right?
 
Also, “If you can’t make money during a war, you just flat out can’t make money.” Y’know, for kids. And Ju Lee is great. She’s my favorite so far this season.

I realize that ultimately that scene won’t mean much. They’ll still win and Mako will still be in the party. And I know the series as a whole is about making mistakes. But I think that was too much. I kinda hate that dude now, but I’ll get over it maybe.

I’m at the end of ep 10. I found Tenzin being a flawed mentor interesting. Mentor characters tend to be like Uncle Iroh and have all the answers, or Evil Uncle and are just evil. It’s an interesting choice, to have Tenzin lack experience in something vital to Korra’s growth. It’s too bad that it seems the only reason this was done was to give Evil Uncle an advantage. :\
 
Anyways, it was nice to see Iroh. Varrick is way more interesting and scary than Evil Uncle. The police are a bunch of tools, even Lin. Toph would be disappointed.

Was S2 supposed to make me like Bolin more? Because I don’t.
 
Oh and Mako’s a hero even though he sold his friends out, nice to see that was never addressed. Why did that scene even happen. And Korra fucking forgives him because fucking amnesia, and Mako lies to her and gets away with it. I hate him even more. Fuck Mako. If I was following this week-to-week, I’d dump this show right here.

I would’ve liked to see them fight about it. I liked that teen-drama-at-the-end-of-the-world stuff. As is, it’s a stupid conflict that could’ve easily been avoided and gets resolved by those involved just forgetting about it. I hope it’ll get addressed eventually. Though at this point I don’t expect that to be resolved in a satisfactory way.
 
Maybe I’m making a big deal over nothing? I just really hated what Mako did.

Anyway, powered through the end of S2. I liked Korra’s fight against Evil Spirit God. Zhao finally getting his comeuppance was great, I had forgotten about him. Loved that whole scene in the Fog of Lost Souls. Bolin’s confession was nice, too.
 
I’m not sure what to expect moving forward. I still like Korra a lot, as well as Asami. I hate Mako but I know he’s not going anywhere, I’ll just deal with it. I’m still not really fond of Bolin, but if his confession was earnest and they develop that relationship, I might like that. Tenzin and Varrick shot way up for me this season. They were a pleasant surprise. And of course there’s Ju Lee (Zhu Li?).

Like i said from here it’s almost all ups, more traveling more call backs, and some of the best villains in the series, and you will get to see another old face,
