I myself prefer the term porn over lewd. It feels like everyone on the internet uses the word lewd nowadays. I believe it started back in 2017, because of Kanna in Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid. If you want to use the word lewd instead, feel free to.

Serious question: why, in the year 2020, do so many people still believe “You can’t criticize successful artists if you can’t do better” is at all a valid argument? Because it is not just a bad argument, it is one of the stupidest arguments I have ever heard.

It’s something I’ve seen a lot, in both my comments and in general online discourse. But it is so stupid, so utterly inane, and so easily debunkable, that anyone who still uses it immediately proves that they have nothing of value to add to the world.
 
Because first of all, while it can help your understanding of the media in question, being an accomplished artist/musician/filmmaker is not necessary for understanding art/music/films. You don’t need to be Gordon Ramsay to recognize bad food. You don’t need to be a politician to be annoyed by the decisions politicians make.
 
And secondly, it only ever seems to apply to negative feedback. You never hear people saying the same about positive feedback, like “You can’t like or appreciate this solo because you aren’t a musician.” So it becomes increasingly clear that people only say this because they’re butthurt that people have opinions.

I think part of it is some people are just oversensitive,or overprotective.  
The type of people who really need thicker skins. Maybe if they’re fans,they feel that any critisicm against their favorite whatever is a critisicm against them.

Most of the reasons why people want Prostitution banned is emotionally based, not logic based

Besides, when everyone takes people’s criticism or appreciation towards something as gospel, you know it’s a popular opinion. For the former, it’s a problem for fanboys but it’s a blessing for the latter.

Gamingcirclejerk and Moviescriclejerk are both shit subreddits that are just as annoying as the main subreddits they are parodying.

The problem with those subreddits is that people who are marginalized in the original subreddits go there and it becomes dominated by them
 
So you end up with a Subreddit that’s the other size of the Circlejerk coin
 
The main issue is the Downvote system where people just give up on trying to explain their unpopular opinions and just go to a Subreddit where their opinions are the norm
