Naruto can only work so hard cuz his mom’s family have magical super stamina, the show is super into nature over nurture so his dad is very important, even ignoring that it gets him massive benefits in terms of getting him a super capable teacher, Naruto is a kid coasting on every generic overpowered shonen trope being depicted as a self made product of hard work, he is the power equivalent of someone who claims they pulled themselves up by the boot straps with only a small loan of a million dollars from his parents,

Have you ever thought the point of Naruto was what he did with that power? Almost every ninja has powers. Sasuke, Kakashi, Neji, Hinata.

Naruto’s problems was he couldn’t control his powers at first and he had a discouraging enviorment that would make even the smartest kid crack.

And that gift? Naruto would probably rather be blind than have that burden of a Ninetales in his body. Look at Garra and how he turned out.

He’d be happier if were just a normal guy.

But what makes Naruto hard working is that instead of wasting that potential and dying a loser or killing everyone, he became a hokage instead.

So I think it’s safe to say, yes he did earn his cred.

I really dislike many villains who play the “well-intentioned guy wanting to make things better” because many times those guys feel like a magnet for clumsy writing.

Either they’re too stupid to see they’re causing the exact oposite or they’re just trying to mask their selfishness yet the narrative wants to overexcuse them.

Christianity sucks! It’s largely an excuse for racism, sexism, LGBTQ-phobia, being a dick to the poor, etc.
And to any of the Christians reading this, this is not against you personally. It’s the extremists in places of power that are largely responsible for this.

Religion is a double edged sword, and it’s also the thing that is usually the target of criticism and ridicule because it usually preaches positive stuff while mostly yielding negative results because of humanity. Christianity gets that even more because most of the population in the world believes in it.

Anything can be used for that. Religion is just a easy one to use due to how special people’s beliefs are to them.

This is also a people problem, you know. The thing about mass religions is that there’s something for basically everyone in it, and most people don’t have the strength to live up to the principles they claim to profess. Instead, most, especially these days, instead of changing their ways to live up to these principles, prefer to bend them into forms that don’t incovenience them or make them challenge their prejudices. But then again, if it was easy to be a saint, there wouldn’t be much point to celebrating them.

I don’t understand the appeal of Animal Crossing.

What I’ve seen is comparable to “day-to-day in a virtual world”.

Virtually every single videogame is in a way a power fantasy, so I’d still expect a somewhat more flamboyant or adventurous experience, or even simply a larger scale thingy like Sim City rather than just “virtual life”.

Animal Crossing seems like life simulator but furry.

As an american, paying off your debt is the ultimate power fantasy. Dragons and unicorns are more realistic than that.

It’s chill be sure there’s no pressure on doing the goal and you can just putzt about and catch bugs and water flowers. There’s a non-insignificant base (at least non-insignificant) that really really crave having no pressure in games. They might experience enough of that IRL. So an escape is loading into your animal crossing village or island and getting to just do things

The R rating and the M rating should be increased to 20+.

What difference does that make? People are still gonna sneak into theaters and lie about their age.

I’ll be honest, I’m not really big on Soulslike games.

I’ve given both Bloodborne and Elden Ring a fair shot, and I just couldn’t get into either of them. The controls feel way too sluggish and slow, the worlds felt kinda dull, and the idea of having to potentially redo hours of progress just because you accidentally dodgerolled when you were supposed to parry is enough to turn me off completely.

I get enough of this frame data shit from fighting games, thank you very much.
