My 5 years old cat has been diagnosed with chronic kidney failure this month and the doc told us she would probably not last until next year but a strict treatment would probably surpass that expectancy but this is a failure of an important organ that filter all her toxic waste off her body so we will sadly fail to make her live as long as most cats would normally live.
I would take an ultimate sacrifice from giving her those daily needs until she’s ready to stand on her own. She has never ate any food anymore for the past 2 weeks and her life support are now of powdered dextrose and some kidney and liver supplements just to keep her alive.
We learned that she will no longer eat those foods that she would usually eat like those who are high in protein, sodium, and phosphorous, as it is dangerous to damage her kidney even more.
She will be eating special renal diet foods which are low on all those 3 elements that would harm her kidneys.
