It’s better if you did since Louder and Prouder isn’t a complete reboot, and sometimes references events from the original series.

It’s weird how it isn’t a complete reboot and yet they’re not aged up. Ik it’s a soft reboot, making Penny be born in the 2000s in the L&P universe than the original, but still

You’d think they put them in high school or college, right?

It kind of bugs me that Penny doesn’t know what a record player is (I know it’s meant to make her more relatable to modern times) or that one scene where LaCienega didn’t know who Snoop Dogg is and calls him ‘Snoopy’.

IKR. I understand his popularity has waned some, but he’s still a somewhat recognizable name that even kids would recognize.

I remember that was talked about last year in this thread in regards to how Hollywood doesn’t respect voice actors.

It’s kinda amusing seeing this because at this point in time “Sandy’s Rocket” works more as a modern episode then a classic. Keep in mind that episode was the only one from the classic age to have Sandy show any interest in science, it wouldn’t be until season 4 that they would go out of their way to change her personality to being all about science.
Ironically in season 8 there is another episode about Sandy and SpongeBob going to the moon and in that one we actually see Sandy do what we would expect her to do if she was on the moon, I recommend checking that one out:

Wow, surprised early Spongebob had that little of Sandy’s science. Then again I guess Sandy was a character who didn’t show up a lot of time so we didnt see all sides of her.

Personally I think she was around plenty in the old episodes and we got to know a lot about her, aside from the obvious like her being a land squirrel living underwater we know
She’s from Texas
She’s a thrill seaker
She’s a bit of a tomboy
She loves Ka-Rah-Tae (that’s how she and SpongeBob met after all)
She stays in shape training and exercise (and is friends with Larry Lobster)
And of course hibernates during the winter.

Lately the series has felt like all that wasn’t enough and felt the need to prioritize her love of science over everything else.

I watched the first episode of Velma and I like it.

Saw the finale of velma and I was very wrong about it being one season split into 2, hence the immediate 2nd season. Nah that really did turn out to be the show getting a lot of viewers, they wrapped most of everything up by the end.

Last episode was better than the rest, not good, but better. I do like Shaggy and Fred by the end, Fred being the only one to really attempt self improvement, He’d be a lot of fun in another show. Now we see if the writers take the double down route or 2nd season improvement route, my bet’s on the former.
