It’s basically a story that is already happening and is a likely possibility, if not slightly exaggerated, on where the world is headed. Prophetic and relatable science fiction is remembered more than something completely off base.
In terms of the outrage, Zoe and the rest might have used his 3-years old tweet on Gamergate as the prequisite for calling the developer out, but the catalyst was that an indie dev was going off script. One of the major problems that Gamergate brought up was how there was an inside clique of people within the industry, who had connections to games journalists. Those journalists would in turn simultaneously black list any developer that the clique didn’t approve of and make up any excuse to do so. The whole scenario is a convoluted, conspiratiorial mess, but its contents are not fabricated, either.

There is an overlap of ideologies, but cultural Marxism is so vaguely defined in common use that it is better to use it conservatively for people with specific cultural relativist dichotomies.
Calling them progressive is fine, as far as I am concerned. It deliniates enough from liberals, socialists and communists as it desribes the underlying progressive stack, cultural sensitivity and the special interest towards protecting cultural minorities. Regressive works too, but I don’t like to use it, since it is similar to blaming things on “white feminism” about the current faults in the movement. Post-modernist is also an acceptable label, because very few people actually self-identify as such.
