Pony Venting Thread

If it could make feel you better, I’ve actually been throught something you’re going throught now with RD. I will tell you my bad experience: Wander Over Yonder, one of my favorites cartoons of the decade. That cartoon when it comes to parodies was the top of the top. Fans will remember The Boy Wander (a parody of Batman), The New Toy (a parody of toys commercials, The Cartoon (a parody of He-Man), The Legend (contained plenty of parodies) and The Bad Neighbors (a parody of sitcoms)…. but the last parody episode we got… was a travesty (if you were a fan of this show, you might have felt the same as I did as, by looking to your avatar, the parody in question tackled something you seem to love).
 
Basically, the last parody episode of the show, The Robomechabotatron, was supposed to be a parody of Giant Robot Fight cartoons, and by looking to the record of the show when it came to parodies, so I was all in for this one, and I was very pumped for it…. I saw the horror. You want to know what is the McCracken’s idea.of doing a giant robot fight parody episode? Doing a giant robot fight… without the fight… I will quote Dominator’s line from that episode “but my giant robot fight…..” that was pretty much my feeling after the episode. As it was the last parody episode the show was getting, I felt devastated and frustrated. I lost my trust in McCracken afterward, and I’m not gonna support his future works after that bad stab in the heart.
 
I’m telling this to you because, what you’re feeling with MLP and Rainbow Dash lately, I’ve felt it years ago with Wander Over Yonder and the Robomechabotatron episode. So if there’s someone who can understand where you’re coming from, it’s me.

I feel fortunate that I like her as well.
 
I’d be worse off in my enjoyment of the show if I disliked her.

Eh, I feel the wrong people is watching the show, which explains why a lot of fandom content have a lot of grimdark elements of it. This is why things like Fallout Equestria exist…

I don’t think the show’s ganna get more “violent” then it is, and honestly the notion that all li’l girls can’t handle a li’l violence is a bit ironic, because my older sister’s daughters have been watching stuff like “Jurassic Park” (a movie featuring things like a severed arm) sense they were like 4, and they never seemed bothered by it, and it’s one of their favorite movies.

If something involves cutesy innocence, it becomes that much more tempting/satisfying to corrupt it.

Where the hell are all the zebras?  
And where the hell is Zecora? Did Brenda Critchlow’s contract run out and she wasn’t hired back on?

In a way, I feel the same because if they came in expecting that type of stuff on this show, then boy are they going to be disappointed.

I don’t think so either and I’m not saying that they can’t handle it, it’s that a lot of the times, it’s a lot for them to handle and to take in.

You complain about your beloved characters yet never judge yourselves…

She had a silent cameo in 2, 4, 6, Great, but that’s been it since A Health of Information, silent cameos.

Not sure if this goes in the Unpopular Opinion Time, or here….
 
But I really dislike those scenes where there is no dialogue, or voice acting at all, with only the background music playing all over the place, making it like a silent movie, but with colors.
 
Its feels like a lazy way to extend the episode for the 22mins formant, and to save money from the voice actors.
 
Does this kind of scenes existed in previous seasons?

It’s been around since The Showstoppers IIRC but the latest one didn’t even have sound effects.

Hell, we all know how the likes of Cupcakes, Rainbow Factory, or Cheerilee’s Garden are well-known.
 
That being said though, the flavor of corruption that involves “throw them through physical and mental challenges more severe than in canon, blood and/or broken bones possibly included” are better sorts of ideas than “kill everyone off like a cheap slasher movie because you derailed a canon character’s personality into being a heartless serial killer.”

Uh… no it hasn’t. Zecora’s had a speaking role in Molt Down, the episode in which Spike grew wings.

Right, I forgot that episode even existed for some reason.
 
Also, I agree on that first part. Rainbow Factory might have an excuse, but I guess that’s a lot of the reason Fallout Equestria is so popular.

I kinda like those actually. If the animation, music, and visuals are good enough, you don’t really need to bog it down with alot chattyness. It doesn’t feel lazy if it’s a montage, or something to help further the plot. It is a 22-minute show, after all.

You know what I hate? I hate it when I’m browsing the site at night, just hanging out and looking at ponies while I fall asleep, and an image pops up in my notifications that I don’t recognize and I open it and it’s an image I’d gotten subscribed to two years ago because I replied to some drama in the comments, and it’s a drawing of dead ponies. Being raped.
 
I hate it when that happens.
 
Makes me wish for more happy ponies.

Indipendentely by what people say, none of the seasons of FiM are leggittimately bad. You want yo know what it MY expression of BAD seasons?
 
-Spongebob S5 to 8;  
-The Simpsons S20 and Onward;  
-Original PPG S5 and S6;  
-Family Guy S6 and onward;  
-Fairly Oddparents S8 onward;  
-Pretty much any season of Teen Titans Go.
 
Whatever people think, objectively speaking NONE of the season of FiM came even CLOSE to the bad of THESE seasons.
