Season 7 episode discussion - non-leaked/early version

Especially notable when you consider how technically, all we’ve seen Starlight levitate was herself. Velvet can lift herself, and her full grown son, and her granddaughter, all while also lifting the bulky costumes they’re wearing. And for that matter, there’s no way she’s less than middle-aged. Can you imagine her when she was the age her daughter is now?
 
I mean, it’s far from unfitting considering the G1 pony she’s based on was one of her continuity’s best and strongest magicians, but still. The mare can lift.

Wait, really? I was not aware of that. It’s fascinating if true, and makes me wonder if that was in any way deliberate.
 
So Twilight gets magic strength (and a bit of crazy) from mom, and a fastidious organization habit from dad. How interesting to see that.

Yeah. I’m not as familiar with the G1 continuity as I’d like to be, but I know that about Twilight (no second part; she was the inspiration for both Twilights of this continuity, but color-wise she looked a lot more like Velvet). Her main things, if I remember, were teleporting and granting wishes. In the comics she wasn’t around the other ponies much, and when she put in an appearance there would be this thing where a bank of mist would appear out of nowhere and she’d walk out of it.
 

Just seen the Zepellin episode, very good, one of the best of the 2nd half of the season, one of he best of the whole season in fact. The whole Sparkle clan (plus Cadance and Flurry) did great here.
 
I knew I knew the voice over the tannoy but I couldn’t place it until I saw him.
 
The pony tailing Twilight all over the place was funny (forgot his name already :o).

The color scheme is kinda similar, now that I look at it. I mean, obviously it’s just coincidental.

I loved what they did with Twilight Velvet’s personality and characterization by making her a thrill seeker.

Was tempest based on any of the past gen ponies?

Don’t think so.

I have to admit, I’m curious how many people are actually going to avoid seeing the final episodes early. You would think waiting three weeks to finish off a season wouldn’t be so difficult, but apparently that is not the case. I honestly don’t get why either. I mean, if you’re enjoying the season, why would you want it to be over faster?
 
I’m just hoping I can manage to avoid seeing anything too critical from the upcoming episodes. It sometimes seems like everyone and their brother is eager to spoil as much of what was to come as possible.

Yeah, not helped by people who are like “JUST DO IT” or tease with potential spoils just to make you mad. Not everyone is in a hurry and it’s hard to enjoy something when you binge it all at once. No doubt they’ll be complaining in a few weeks that the hiatus is ‘too long’ when they did that all to themselves.

Precisely. I have no issue stretching things out, especially if it shortens the hiatus for me. It’s like food – you can’t enjoy it properly if you gobble it up all at once.
 
On that general note, apparently we’re due to get a double feature this coming weekend – “Secrets and Pies” on the 14th and “Uncommon Bond” on the 15th.

I would watch them now if I wasn’t lazy.
 
Watching the movie on Friday, the intended episode Saturday, and the movie again on Sunday is enough for me for now.

Is it “Secrets and Pies” next?

The episode that’s airing on DF is Secrets and Pies, Uncommon Bond is on Treehouse on Sunday.
 
I’m going to watch the finale just so I don’t get spoiled on it, already been playing dodge the spoiler for 2 days. Might wait til the weekend to see Secrets and Pies on DF then I can watch Uncommon Bond early or wait for it.
 
The season ends in 3 weeks anyway even without leaks.
