Also, I know people find Ember’s tsundereness cliché, and it is, but I still really want to see more of it XD

I find it funny they think that about her tsundereness, when actully there is no tsundereness in her outside of fan works.
She doesn’t do the whole friend thing like ponies very well because she didn’t really have any like that before Spike, it’s not being as tsundere. it’s not knowing how to act.
She wasn’t pulling a “I don’t want to be your friend” when she really wanted to, it was “I don’t know how to do friends” and was unsure how to react.
I find it funny they think that about her tsundereness, when actully there is no tsundereness in her outside of fan works.

Yah, I found that strange was well how the fandom seemed to see in Ember traits of a tsundere. At the same time I can understand way, though I could see the pull being mostly those most familiar with anime. Often with more aggressive characters who push others away and don’t want to show emotion by being angry is endearing to some, and even if it was more because she simply “didn’t know how to do friends” or didn’t want to be seen as weak since she was trying to prove her strength… many fans will still connect her to such an idea.

Ya, they forget that Ember is not used to the idea of friendship at all as it’s not really somthing dragons do.
If it was and she was acting the same way then they would be right, she is a tsundere, but as it is she’s acting in the way that is normal for any dragon other then Spike.
They do not have friends that help them just to be nice, they barely have actual friends.

But the way she says the line implies that she likes teaming up with Spike but doesn’t want to admit it, which is typical tsundere behavior.

Actully it is, remember what I pointed out, how they make it clear dragons do not do friendship like that.
That is part of the context, you have to remove that make her a tsundere.
