Why is Twilight so stupid? Seriously, she’s supposed to be a genius, yet she doesn’t even bother reading up on dragon biology to care for the DRAGON CHILD LIVING WITH HER.

Well they haven’t really learned much about dragons yet still. They just fored a new bond between the species, and there’s probably still plenty of dragons against it.

Yeah, Twi has been trading letters with Ember, but she seems to be mostly focused on dragon customs (if Celestial Advice in an indication) rather than their biology. Which makes sense as Twi is mostly a political ambassador at this point.
