if you have already forgotten the incidents that occurred with SK like the artillery incident and various others that showcase they try to get away with any threat because those incidents showed that they could.

The war with the south never ended. Even when treated with a relatively soft touch by the last three administrations they still behaved like a rabid mongoose. Now that mongoose has nukes and they’ll only get worse. Trumps posturing is necessary at this stage and millitary action, whether by us or someone else is inevitable.

But did those incidents lead to war? No.

This back and forth between Trump and Kim is peanuts compared to incidents like those. I’m starting to realize that there’s nothing to worry about, all the threats these two are making are basically “You better stop talking shit or I’ll do this.” It’s all just schoolyard smack talk

they will threaten the various nations around them a.k.a our allies and try to threaten them into capitulating to get what they want. What if NK threatens SK with nuclear war if they don’t reunify on NK’s terms?

Then we have the right to threaten them back. You believe that just because someone says something, you need to go and kill the guy for saying it.

A threat is a threat. It’s bad and it’ll be an international incident. But a threat without any action to prove that they will just go with it, it is nothing but empty words. And no, having nuclear weapons is not an action.

They’ll probably die of laughter then call their bluff. South Korea isn’t France, they won’t surrender just because you say scary things. Nor is North Korea under the control of the Children of Atom, I doubt they’ll launch nukes for no good reason

@SonGokuMonkey
Long story short it all started when the Soviets made Kim Il-sung the premier of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea aka North Korea

You people are massivley underestimating the threat a nuclear capable NK poses to the world. This is a country that has intentionally isolated itself from the global community, that starves it’s people, assassinates anyone advocating for change and has been in a cold war since the 70’s and has been consistantly threatening us all with death for decades. It’s current leader had his own brother killed out of paranoia. They even threatened china, their only ally, albeit an increasingly reluctant one.

At least Iran pay lip service to the UN and put on a front of civility. You think north korea won’t try to push as hard as they can now they have nukes? They are already miniturising the payload and putting them on the back of vehicles capable of launching them overseas, and moving their ships into position.

At this point the biggest mistake is doing nothing.

Yes we get it, their leaders are assholes but you’ve yet to answer the real question.

What proof is available that shows that North Korea will launch a nuke for no real reason?

Besides everything i’ve just said and that they’ve never needed a reason to do any of the horrible crap they’ve already done? It’s to big a risk to assume they won’t.

It would be detrimental to North Korea if they attack the USA. North Korea has SEZs (special economic zones) where foreign businesses can thrive with income and tariff incentives and a protectionist tariff policy, which are measures that tell of an economy without self-sufficiency, further made apparent with the Arduous March/North Korean Famine of 1994-1998 and the UN sanctions, so for North Korea to start a war would be self-destructive because the foreign companies, who are usually from China who do not want to sour their relations with the UN because China has SEZs for other UN foreign businesses, will abandon them and the country will be economically isolated from the UN by order of sanctions by the UN, which will cause another Arduous March because a lack of food is still a huge problem in North Korea in which they will have to abandon their military-first funding and fund programs for supplying food to keep their citizens alive for drafting them into the war, but because the military funding has been abandoned, North Korea will eventually run out of ammunition and other military supplies, supposing the war goes on for a long enough time to exhaust their weapons, and if they win, then regardless of whether they used nuclear weapons, their economy will collapse, a long Arduous March will happen, and a lot of the world will be destroyed, demanding costly repairs that the non-self-sufficient economy of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea cannot pay, crashing as the country succumbs to deprivation.

You haven’t provided any concrete evidence that North Korea will launch a nuke. Like I said before, all that’s going on right is two governments throwing empty threats at one another.

And when exactly did France do that? I’ll have you know that we only surrender when our incompetent military leaders let us get overrun by the enemy.

Back to the North Korean issue, unless they start shit or we have conclusive, definite proof that they have the actual capacity to launch nukes, any preemptive action would be ill-advised.

“B-but they have nukes!”

So did the Soviet Union, and they eventually collapsed under their own system. No need for a war. The same can happen to North Korea, especially since they’re already a shoddy country. In other words, we might not have to do anything for a problem to go away. Doing nothing can actually be the best idea. We did it before, it was called the Cold War.

North korea has lasted over half a century. it ain’t going anywhere without a bit of help. NK is many times more volatile then Russia ever was and we still came within an ants dick of getting nuked back then too.
You think because we got lucky the first time it’s a guarantee it’ll happen again? Does a maniac have to put the knife in your skull before you raise your arms to defend yourself?

NK Doesn’t have the arsenal to pose an existential threat to The US But Japan and the south are non nuclear powers who will not survive the kind of attack that the north has threatened them with. A pre-emptive nuclear strike is unnecessary but a ground assault by the south backed by western air support is the best way to handle the situation if it further deteriorates.
