I remember that one. So many 80s references… but great fun. I can’t bring myself to hate anything that manages to work in a scene where Shining Armor dons his best Adam Ant outfit to sing an Oingo Boingo parody.

Apparently this is the cover, but IDW credited it to somebody else because of course they would screw up.

He’s said he’s Finnish before, so yes. I guess #59 is about Twilight and Spike.

The artist name in the solicitation isn’t the mistake, it’s the issue number on the cover that is erroneous.
 
Pencils’ cover is supposed to be for issue #59, but it was included in #58’s marketing cover images by mistake. The actual retailer incentive cover for #58 is indeed by Thom Zahler, but obviously hasn’t been shown yet due to the graphics mix-up.
 
I recall the same thing happened for legends of magic #2 having one variant cover image mixed up with #3.

Well, Pencils just confirmed that Curnow will give him some issues to draw during next year.
 
Looks like I will start buying the comics again.

Most of the writers on the comic are freelancers, right? Yet for some reason, I can’t seem to find any info on anything else Ted Anderson or Thom Zahler have written for. I’m kind of curious about those two in particular to be honest…

First decent artist after so long- of course we need to support him and hopefully Pencils would be only the first of more fans working for IDW.

Well, Pencils himself said that Bobby didn’t brought them up so I guess the pony butts are safe for all people who’s into them.
 
And honestly, if Bobby was fine with Andy Price working on a children’s comicbook then he shouldn’t have any problem with Pencils’s art either.
