Right; if no one has a better idea or a complaint, I’ll add the “girabbit” tag later today.

I’m wondering. My friend was a little annoyed by this. He typed Solo, and Rainbow Dash into the search bar but what also popped up was a picture of Celestia in a Rainbow Dash bikini. My theory is that the person tagged solo only referring to Celestia (but also tagged Rainbow Dash because even though it’s not her, it still involves an image of Rainbow Dash). So the search only looks for images tagged Solo and also Rainbow Dash? Disregarding other tags.

the user tagged correctly and the search did its job. i’m not sure what you’re asking.

If that is all that they typed in, yes, that’s all it looks for.

yes, but she is alone in this scenario. she’s the only actual character present, we don’t remove the solo tag due to, for example, a plushie or picture of another character.

Princess Celestia is the one alone in this case then, not Rainbow Dash.

Sometimes, even when you use a complex search the correct way, you find a few images you weren’t looking for. It’s just how it is.

On that subject, could it be made to imply rabbit?

In images such as >>1835642, is that a a hairclip, or a flower in hair?

Going back to this situation, I’m thinking of making a tag “alternate version available” for it, since that avoids words with connotations such as “paywall” or “patreon”. Any opposition to the tag name or idea in general?

“Paywall” and “patreon” are connotations which it is most definitely useful to have.

There was a neglected paywall tag for a while until a mod got rid of it. I’d like “paywall” in that description too because that’s exactly what I’m talking about, but I feel like the mods and maybe artists wouldn’t be in favor of that terminology.  
patreon preview is the closest tag currently in use, but that’s moreso for cropped rather than clean versions of paywalled porn, and it doesn’t include paywalled content that isn’t from Patreon.

I came across a similar situation. I was looking for Solo Shining Armor pictures and I got these:  
 
 
I get Shining is technically there but in one case he’s offscreen and in the other case he’s just a floating disembodied dick. He’s not the focus of both pictures and those pictures are not what I was looking for.

I think you missed the point. The person wasn’t looking for Celestia or any other character but Rainbow Dash.
 
Couldn’t there be a way of tagging that allows people to look for a specific canon character by themselves to avoid this kind of problem (e.g. Solo Celestia, Solo Rainbow Dash, etc.)? Before you say it can’t be done, you guys did these sort of tags with futa artwork (e.g. Futa Trixie). I don’t see why it can’t be done.

Yeah, both those images aren’t tagged right. Anyone who tags disembodied dicks as ‘solo’ ever (unless there’s ONLY a dick and nothing else) are just plain wrong.

Well they’re wrong. We have solo focus and it’s gendered versions for a reason.

This has beeen tagged ‘edited screencap’ with all of the implications that come along with it
 

 
I thought that the ‘screencap’ tag was more for whole screenshots than for cropped characters like this?
