Is the MM Battle Network series supposed to take place at the same time as the Classic MM series, but just in a parallel universe where net navis are widespread instead of robots?

…I can’t enjoy Battle Network enough to delve very deep into the lore, but even I get that that’s the whole point; at least the Classic, X and Legends series allegedly all exist on the same timeline, but then Battle Network lifts robot masters from the classic series wholesale and dumps them into a context that doesn’t even fit anywhere except it’s own little world (which is only fitting, considering the gameplay is already the black sheep in the franchise anyways).

Game quality aside, I think High Max is pretty cool.

Methinks parallel universe. Has to be. NetNavi tech is too different and you’d see a lot more references to the original series.

It’s an alternate timeline, they almost outright state it in the first game, when it’s mentioned that in a bid to win at some World Fair, Electopia funded Dr. Light’s research in network communication rather than Dr. Wily’s research in robotics.

I think the main two things setting them apart other then names was that Tadashi Hikari (Dr. Light) was doing the network communications research and had a family, in the main timeline(MM, X, Zero) he was partnered with Wily in robotics and had no family and it’s why Blue, Rock, and Roll are his children.

Well, I like the traditional Mega Man and Mega Man X games. Not really into the more recent games, though I like the Mega Man Zero games, as well as Mega Man and Bass.
 
Also, can anyone tell me how shit X7 is? I haven’t played it before, skipped straight to X8 because a copy of X7 I bought years ago didn’t play well in my PS2.

If Twilight Sparkle should be X.  
And some scientist tries to clone Princess Twilight in the future.
 
I wonder what Twilight’s Four Guardians would be like?  
 
There’s 3 males and 1 female in the group, all were designs derived on X’s design.  
If Copy Twilight has 4 guardians, then it would be 3 mares and 1 stallion based around her genes.

Even though I’ve created the thread, I’m mainly interested in the Classic Series of Mega Man. Why? Because there are many incarnations of Mega Man, it would be much easier for me to stick with one, and Mega Man Classic is the most well-known and beloved of the bunch.  
I have played the X series though. I own the X Collection for Gamecube.
 
Since I’m a Nintendo guy, I can’t really give a good opinion on X7. But from what I’ve seen of it, it looks very mediocre compared to the other games.

I still think Twilight should be all incarnations of Mega Man.  
But if these guys are copies of X (Never played the Zero series), then yes they would be four Twilights. The stallion would be either Duskshine or Shining Armor.

Not really clones, crated from X’s DNA but altered, like High Max was crated from a piece of Zero DNA’s, but are closer to to the original as a more complete amount was used.  
To note the only reploids really called clones are Fake Zero from X2, and Zero’s body in the Zero games.  
with reloads a clone is more closer to a one to one copy of the body, when you alter it then are not a clone anymore.

No, the Guardians are not clones of X, the clone of X he’s talking about is Copy X, a clone of X that rules over Neo Arcadia, the biggest known human settlement left on the planet after the Cyber Elf Wars and Weil’s genocide, who rules over the city with an iron fist, oppressing all Reploids on it.

Not gonna lie, I always thought (and even in my own universe write) Harpuia was a girl, given the name sounds like Harpy.

Okay, so the Classic series, the X series, the Zero series, and the ZX games are all part of the same timeline and universe, right? What about some of the other series, like Legends, Battle Network, and Star Force? Are they part of that same timeline and universe as well, or are they each in their own distinct timelines and universes?

Legends is unknown but believed by some to be some point several thousand years after ZX.  
Battle Network and Star Force are in a parallel universe. Wily in BN is the counterpart of the main Wily and Lan’s grandfather, Tadashi Hikari, is the counterpart of Dr. Light.
