Possibly, though nostalgia isn’t a bad thing for the most part. I found 1 to be alight, though much too serious compared to the Beth style, with the special encounters just being jarring. 2 I gave up on when the game wouldn’t let me complete a quest in a way that would cause Vault City and the ghoul town to work together peacefully and without any enslavement. I want to beat 2 some day, but it’s moreso to say that I beat it and didn’t like it to my younger brother, who hyped it as the greatest game ever made than because I enjoyed it.
And while the Beth games have their problems (from preventing you from being evil like in 4 to big but empty like NV), but I like them and think they’ve done much more good than harm for the series.

I can agree with that. I don’t think you can even join the final bosses’ sides in the first two games.
