The idea of teaching friendship is so dumb, though  
In the context of classroom instruction, it kinda is, yeah. I reconcile the goofiness of the setup by interpreting it as less of a “here’s how to be friends” thing than a school of diplomacy, where representatives from around Equestria and surrounding lands are being taught how to take Friendship back where they came from and “teach” it to others as sort of goodwill ambassadors.
 
It’s still Horse Imperialism as all get-out, but it seems a lot more plausible than nobody else knowing how to make friends at all, and would explain why the Student Six are still expected to attend after clearly demonstrating that they’ve got the show’s subtitle down in spades.

It’s interesting.

I love the students, (I’m definitely an Ocellus irl) but yeah, back at hearing the S8 premise of “HEY LET’S PUT THEM IN A SCHOOOOOL” made me cringe since way too damn many shows going back even a few decades into my childhood take place in schools. The few episodes the school appeared were alright, but with the pillars (which I really wish s8 had focused on) and that too, it was an overly-busy season. At least the mane six are teachers and not students of a subject they’ve been demonstrating for seven seasons though lol

I think AJ does like Starlight now. Perhaps she didn’t in season 6 (particularly after what she did to Big Mac), but things have changed since then. That being said, she’s not always so quick to forgive, case in point, Flim and Flam. But I think she gave Starlight a chance due to a combination of Starlight’s willingness to change and trusting Twilight’s judgment.

Stuck up, that’s the phrase i was looking for.

A few things to understand about phobias. First, you can develop a phobia to just about anything, and quite suddenly too. All it really needs to form is a sufficiently stressful experience or frightening event. Secondly, they aren’t necessarily going to make sense. You can be fully and completely aware, on a factual level, that the thing you’re afraid of is unlikely, or silly, or won’t actually harm you at all, but the fear response is still entirely outside your control. And third, not having them at one point in your life is not an indication that you’ll never have them, or that you won’t redevelop them if they are ones you had before.
 
I realize it seems a little silly for Twilight to have a problem with ladybugs, but she’s also very well known at this point for having issues dealing with with stress, anxiety, and (occasionally) panic. And given the amount of stress she usually deals with, it doesn’t surprise me at all that she both has phobias, and that she might have relapsed back into one. Even in real life, they do come back sometimes.
 
As for the supposed continuity errors, I’ve said it elsewhere, but I see no reason why the song couldn’t have been taught to her as a filly as a means of controlling her phobia. Remember, we did see her learn breathing techniques as a way of dealing with the stress of being a princess, at one point. And phobias are often treated in real life through therapy specifically designed to reduce the fear and anxiety symptoms that manifest when the subject of the phobia is encountered. A silly little song about the subject of her fear, made up by her favorite sitter (whom she apparently cared for a great deal) might have been created as a way for a much younger Twilight to calm down. Besides, even as far back as season one, laughing at scary things was actually stated as a way to those defeat things that caused fear  
 
It also makes for a nice bit of headcanon, in that her sitter (and future sister in law) helping her overcome that phobia could explain both the origin of the silly chant and why it bonded the two of them like that.

Man I don’t care. I never asked a scientific explanation, I don’t like the idea of giving phobias to Twilight. The quezadilla is incredibly situational and barely does anything outside of a very quick gag to give it a pass, but the ladybug is fairly ridiculous, doesn’t make sense continuity wise and quite frankly it feels like if they just want to make something funny while making Twilight look ridiculous.

It was Twilight’s most funniest apperance in years, probably since Lesson Zero.

Honestly, Twilight kinda has been tossed through the wringer in these shorts. I’m still rather disturbed about her turning into a baby in Ail-icorn.

People that have nothing else going for them besides this fandom are kinda sad. You can be interested in more than one thing ya know?

In my opinion, Castlevania 2 Simon’s Quest, 64, and Circle of The Moon are awesome and very underappreciated.

The amount of hate the newest short is getting for having Twilight be afraid of ladybugs is ridiculous.
 
Since when has Twilight ever said the words, “I do not have a phobia of ladybugs.” in the show? So what if she once looked at one for two seconds in one episode and her chant with Cadence contains the word “ladybug”? That doesn’t prove anything.
 
People will complain anything about the show and throw shade at the writers for not memorizing every little second of every episode.
